I have used copper sulfate, copper citrate and "copper safe" to treat Cryptocarryon and Amyloodinium. Copper treatments will harm inverts that do not have a hard exoskeleton, copper is also adsorbed by the substrate and can be released back into the aquarium, so it is advisable to use it in a quarantine or hospital tank. Theraputic copper levels are .15 to .2 ppm, this needs to be maintained during the entire treatment, so a test kit is necessary. "CopperSafe" is a chelated form of copper and will require a chelated copper test kit to measure the copper level. I have never experienced it, but have read that copper can have adverse effects on biological filtration, so ammonia and nitrite levels should also be monitored closely during treatment.
thanks for the input!
