most rating are for a 8h period so if it longer than do it sooner. Calculate the hours its running and check with the manufacters specs. I would do it sooner than the manufaters specs. Hope this helps.

When your introducing new bulbs into your lights. Some of the corals will not be happy. In your case I would keep your old ones and add a new one every week til they are all replaced.

Fluorescent bulbs such as PC and VHO should be replaced every 8 ~ 12 months. If algae is growing faster than normal or corals are not opening up as well, these are also good indications that the bulbs may not be good anymore.

Actinic bulbs, namely the 03 true actinic bulbs, should be replaced every six months. The rare blend of phosphors used to create the desired color spectrum they produce tend to become depleted after six months.
