Hey Guys,
Took this flower shot, the flower was so pretty I wanted to bring it out by desaturating the background, what do you think?

I love it! It looks absolutely classic. It has an elegant b&w look to it, with just a splash of color. Perfect!
I hope you'll print a copy and frame it! It's a keeper.

how did you isolate the background to desaturate it?
did you have to use the lasso tool and trace around the flower, or was there another way???

Hey drdrew,
I used the magic wand tool to select the flower then right clicked and selected select invert, then desatured the background and used feathering on a 10 pixel basis...

I agree that it's very classic.. Really lovely.. The yellow stamens are much more eye catching when put in contrast with the black and white..
