if anyone could help i would appreciate it very much.
i have a 92 gallon corner tank. i have about 90lbs. of live rock, and about 8 soft corals. my filtration is a wet/dry system hooked up to a life guard chemical and mechanical filtration system that flows back into the tank. it seems that no matter what i do i always have tons of little specks of dust (for lack of better words) floating around. i tried putting in a power head with a filter attached to it but hardly did anything. any ideas would be great. oh the take is about one year old now.
Thank You

thank you for a good welcome and glad to be here.
i have crushed coral for my substrate. my lighting is a power compact(192 watts) with a atanic bulb & a 6,700k Bulb. one regular 15 watt flourscent bulb, & one double flourscent strip with a atanic bulb, and a 12,000k bulb ( those 2 are both 35watts each) i am pushing almost 3 watts per gal. yes i am using bio balls in the wet/dry. i have six fish,2 damsyals,1 purple tang,1 clown, and another tang, and finally a coral beauty. my water levels off the top of my head are ph 8., ammonia is none, calcium 500, and i forget the exact numbers on the others but last check they were in normal parameters.
thank you again for the welcome,i am here to help when i can and also learn from the more experienced.

First off, welcome to the board goodfe11aa! Glad to have you here, and hope you enjoy your stay! :-D

Just curious, but what's your substrate? And lighting? I know some substrates have such small particles that will get into the water column, either by hard currents, gobies, or some other sand sifting species. Also, are you using bio balls with youe wet/dry setup? What about fish? What are some of your water parimeters? We need to know those questions before going on further :) But FWIW, many people have small particles floating around in the water column. I've never seen a tank that is completely clean, with nothing floating about. It's quite normal, and some lighting can show up the particles more than others. It usually never harms anything, but can be annoying.

my specs i added to my original document, i had a salt water tank once before this and i have never seen anything like this. its almost making the water a little cloudy. also when my shrimp picks at a live rock a cloud off the particles flies off the rock. it seems like an excesive amount of particles and finally they were there before i put the power compact on which was about a month ago. thank you again for all your help.
