I've got a Mag 12 for my return pump and a Mag 7 for my skimmer pump. Both are fairly quiet, but the vibration creates extra noise in my sump. What can I put underneath or around them to help quiet them down?

I run my Mag-Drive pumps externally, and place plain old cork drink coasters underneathe them. Now they run quiet as a baby. You can pick them up at your local HD, in the garden section, and they are sold as plant coasters.

My sump takes up ALL of the space underneath my tank. No space for anything external. Everything has to be in-sump. Any sugestions for something that I can use in-sump?

not to sure its just an idea but what about using a cheap rubber or foam mouse pad .. you can pick them up cheap just get one with the store logo on it like comp usa or staples or even officemax .. you could even try to pull that layer off and just use the rubber..than you can cut it to size and its durable cause it has to be to take a beating of someone using it everyday so the vibration of the pump will not harm it.. but than again its just an idea i have never used it but i would try it myself if i need to quiet my pumps..
