that tank looks nice, but I like to build my tanks up with the tank and then certain lighting and filtrtion I am not fond of those because they can not always be the best when already put together, but it is perfect for like a starter or something!!!!! :D

I've got one on order from Aquatic Ecosystems. It is on backorder, and they can't tell me when they will even get them in. Drs FosterandSmith is backordered also. They say March 30th. I ordered mine for 79.99. Just sort of an experiment. I do not know if this thing is junk or not. They ship from somewhere overseas. I thought it might make a nice little nano. :)

See that is what i am afraid of, if they dont stock it, and mine comes all messed up, i will have to wait again. Wonder if any stores have it for sale

That way i can see it and pick it up there.

Yeah I know. I have never seen any around here. I like the fact it surface skims and has a built in sump area. I think they are sorta like the tanks Chris Marks used to build. I had one of those, but its a long story. I did really like it though.

MINI-BOW 7
http://www.all-glass.com/products/aquariums/images/minibow_img.gif

Introducing our all-new deluxe 7 gallon, personal size bow front glass aquarium with the following great features:

Glass won't scratch like plastic
Includes fluorescent full hood with lamp
Space for power filter provided
Black seal silicone
Removable base included, with space underneath for a small air pump

I still think this might be a better tank, the Azoo looks nicer, but i am unsure of the actuall construction.

The one above is an all-glass model and I have actually seen it in a LFS and was happy with the construction.

it may come out to a couple of dollars more to get the All-glass tank to be complete, but what you same in shipping, you might be less.

The mini tanks from Via Aqua are very nice and have adequate PC lighting for a micro reef. A power head is included as well. They have been on the market for about one year and are very popular and are available from most reputable dealers, which means you are not stuck dealing with Aquatic Ecosystems as your only option.

AZOO is a japaneese company and most of there product aren't available here yet(or not many distributors carry them). there HQI systems are very nice, and the tank looks quite nice and is glass. looks comparable to the ViaAqua tank and there alright tanks. i'm with zack as far as i like to build my tanks from bottom up. if you just plan on having a fish or 2 and some mushrooms, starpolyps, zoo's and a leather than this tank looks like it will work good. i have been replying to a kids post on another forum that bought the ViaAqua 380(real similiar to this tank) the problem he running into is upgrading the lighting while keeping the stock hood. he's limited to a 2x13w kit i think since the tank is only 15"wide. the minibow tanks are pretty nice to look inot because the bow makes the tank look bigger than it is. if i did it again i would drill out my minibow for a sump and closed loop. bulkhead fittings take up alot less room than trying to cramm powerheads and such in the tank.

I also ordered one of these units from Drs Fostersmith, but it too is on backorder!

I also found the link on here for a site listing it for $99, but my guess is that no one has them on hand.

I have had much larger thanks in the past, but I wanted to try my hand at something small like this, that I could set on a kitchen counter or something.

However, I found it rather ironic that when I contacted the fostersmith website customer service, they informed me they don't recommend salt tanks under 30 gallons. For the most part, I know this to be true, btu yet they advertise this exact kit in their catalog and on their website to be used as a mini reef!

Living in Nebraska, it's hard to find excellent choices for livestock and rock, but they don't offer any type of pre-packaged deal for a tank this size, so therefore I would get hosed on the shipping charges for 5-10 lbs. of rock!

I'm excited about seeing the kit show up, but who knows if it will even come in, being that it's on back order.

One question I had is that the link on this posting for the system indicates their pkg. includes salt, a hydrometer and some other access., which fostersmith didn't list. Are there 2 different configurations on this kit/

Thanks,

any questions, you can e-mail me: dculton@cox.net

The link took me right to the tank on the Aquatic Ecosystems website. However, reading what one of the others had posted earlier, they are probably not in stock there either.

I don't mind waiting a little while, but hopefully it's not one of those things where they will never show up.

I can't believe the tank sells for $79, including PC lighting. In the past, all of my tanks had the standard fluorescent lighting strips, basically concentrating solely on fish.

Sure, I like larger tanks, and may go to one again after I have this set-up going, but it is nice to be able to stock a tank this size for less than $500, considering all you need is the heater, maybe another filtration option (I've heard from nearly everyone in the industry you shouldn't have to invest in a skimmer on this size of system), and some other monir things.

Sand, don't need a lot of it, and live rock, well, it can only hold probably a total of 10 lbs!

Not sure what type of fish I'm thinking of, but probably something like a clown w/ an anemone, cleaner shrimp, and some various snails & red or blue legged crabs.

Wow, I'm really excited about getting this set-up started...too bad the darn thing is out of stock!

BTW, I too looked at the AGA Mini Bow 7, but even with the standard OTB filter, it was $79.99 also. Common sense tells me if they're both glass and I can eliminate the hassle of retrofitting my hood with another $50 lighting system, it's better to do the Azoo, assuming I actually get one!

Just received the AZOO nano from DrFostersmith.com. It was on back order but has now arrived! I'd like to get this thing going, but there were no setup instructions that came with it. I suppose I can probably figure it out, but has anyone gone through the process yet?

Update on the AZOO:

The original one that I got had fallen apart in shipping, so I sent it back and got a new one that came intact. No setup required! It has been up and running for 2 weeks now, and all is very good!

I started by adding water and LS from my 150 Gallon reef. After a couple of days of monitoring levels, I added some smaller pieces of LR, also from my 150. After a couple more days, I added some hermit crabs and some free-floating mushrooms that had fallen off in the 150. I also added a small piece of green polyp coral from my 150 that is spreading already.

The algae is changing to a bright green (losing the coralline purple), but its okay. It is very quiet and the one pump suprizingly provides quite a bit of water movement (though I am thinking of adding another small one).
2 days ago I added a Daisy coral that has not been doing well in my big tank (I think it is really tasty to the 50 hermits and countless snails!). Already I am seeing new daisy polyps open up!

The temperature of this tank is pretty constant at 82 degrees. I did a 1 Gallon water change last weekend, and will do another one this weekend.

I have not added any fish yet, but will probably do so soon.

Its a pretty cool self-contained, aesthetically pleasing little tank! Nano-reefing with this thing is very doable.

My only concern now is that I have no blue actinic light for this thing. Does anyone have any ideas?

I think I am going to take the dive into the hobby with this AZOO 7.4 unit. I assume you are still pleased with it and what came with it as stock lighting and filtration. Would you say that is correct?

I didnt get mine yet, as I was awaiting some results and feedback from someone who actually had one. How do you like your tank ScubaDiver, do you have any photos of it? I would love to see some if possible.

Anyone else get one of these?

I am sooo ready to do this, I just need to hear a positive about it. I do not want to get into this with something I ahve to heavily modify to make it work. I am sure I will make those modifications some day , but I dont want to start behind the 8 ball.

Earlier on in this discussion, I had mentioned that I was also interested in this exact same tank, the Sweet Match 7.4 gallon tank.

Well, I ordered one and just received it today in the mail.

My plans are to set it up as a super small mini reef tank, probably on my kitchen counter. The tank looks very cool, however, the majority of the print on the packaging is in Chinese or Japanese. There are NO INSTRUCTIONS....!!!!!

Therefore, I have to go off of the images on the box for reference on setting it up. The filter system seems adequate, it has a plastic fake wall in the back that retains all of the filter media (some sponge-type foam) and the white bristle medai that somewhat resembles a brillo pad material, but not as course. More or less the same type of stuff put into a typical over the back filter, without the carbon.

It comes with a simple pump to get the water into the back area, and the light seems pretty bright. Although it's not actinic, it should be ample for a 7 gallon tank, considering it's only a foot tall or so.

I guess the only other thing I'll need to start it up is a few small pieces of live rock, some sand, a heater and thermo. That's about it. I'll probably put just a couple of crabs in it, maybe a small anemone and a percula or something.

Hello All!

I too just ordered and received my Azoo Sweet Aquarium. The first thing I noticed is that it lacked instructions. Given that it doesn't come with instructions (based on a previous forum post), I need help figuring out how it is setup. I got the back and bottom panels installed. I assume the pump sits behind the back panel and pumps water up through the tube and into the tank via the connector at the top of the back panel. This sound right? The problem I have is where do the different filters go? Also, there is the little plastic piece with an arm and a hinge on one end. What is this and where does it go?

Well, once I verify my hardware setup, I can get some sand, live rock and put 1 or 2 small fish in there. It should make a nice desk fish tank.

i was just reading this and i was wondering would the 13watt pc in the 7.4g azoo thingy be enough to keep most soft corals alive? i mean its just over 1 watt per gallon? wouldn't only be goog as a mushroom tank?
