Foul water odor

My tank has been up and running for about 6 months . I had a bad case of ich I think the medication killed my good bacteria. Now my Ammonia level is 1.0 after a 25% water change! The water has a foul odor like a basement cellar. I recently added Cycle. I wonder if that could be the smell? I added some carbon to my skimmer but no change so far.

Carbon should have got rid of the odor or at least made it less noticeable.

Did you have any live stock that died?

Do you have Bio Balls?

Carbon will do the trick just keep changing it ever three days till the smell go away, a water change can't hur't

Yes, I have bio-balls. About 6 months old. Nothing has died.
