Hello people!

I am doing a lot of tank swapping at the moment as my 180 gallon reef is still under construction inside... When I have given it everything from my 45 gallon, I plan to make that a fish only (maybe with rock) and the only reason for this is that I want a puffer.

My question is this: on http://www.liveaquaria.com, they have a picture of a Spiny Box Puffer and a Porcupine Puffer

Porcupine Puffer

In a LFS I have spied out what is listed as a Porcupine, but looks a lot more like the Spiny Box Puffer. Do the Porcupines look like the Box Puffer when they are young, or are they renamed?

The box needs less space and I think looks cute, if I do buy it in a few weeks can I keep a snowflake eel or picasso trigger with it? Will the box inflate like a porcupine (if so wats the difference)...

My last question (sorry) is about adding reef chromis to my 180 gallon. I have 2 in my 45 and want to end up with 7, 8 or 9 in my 180, do I add all 7, 8 or 9 at once, or in two or three sessions?

Thanks!!!!!!

That tank is way too small for either one of those puffers. I would not subject the fish to very substandard space.

a tank that's 180 is not enought space for them?

A 180 would be great, but he is planning on a 45 for it.

Might have made a mistake with the conversion (I'm in the UK). I'll check that in a minute. Most people said a 3' tank is ok, and mine will be 4'... Maybe I'll rethink it then?!

I've been considering those fish myself and I'm wondering(for me not him/her) if they would both go in an 77(48x19x24)gal.? Also I'm thinking adding a lionfish later on would all these work?

I am not sure about the spiny box puffer, but the standard porc puffer gets well over 1' in lentgh. With the tanks you are considering they wouldn't be able to turn around much less swim.
