hi,
i've got a 65g fowlr tank w. about 40lbs of live rock and a porcupine puffer. i want to get some new fish and have come up with 3 that i'd like and wonder if they'd get along. the 3 i'm looking at are: a maroon clown, a flame hawkfish and a lawnmower blenny (i need something to clean the sand and my puffer has taken to eating any fish small enough to fit in his mouth, ie. <2 in.) how does that combo sound?
i'd also eventually like to get 3 or 4 school fish like green chromis or something. would i be overstocking?
thanks alot :D

that sounds like a good combination ... your tank is large enough for the fish you want.

Until the porcupine puffer grows over 3 feet anyways

90 gallon or larger, fish-only aquarium with a good protein skimmer is a suitable home. It may be aggressive at times, nipping the fins of tank mates and leaving a circular hole as its mark. It will eat invertebrates found in a reef aquarium. It has the ability, when threatened or scared, to inflate its body to almost twice its normal size. Parts of its flesh are poisonous if digested.
it will grow at least 1 to 2 ft

yeah, i've read that stuff about the puffer. i've heard so much mixed info on it regarding it's size, it's hard to predict exactly how big it'll get and how quickly. eventually, i'll probably end up getting a bigger tank, so hopefully it'll stay at a managable size for a while. as for the other fish, i got the flame hawk, the lawnmower blenny and 4 chromis this weekend. the blenny's totally fine (likes chasing the hawk around a bit). the hawk is o.k. except i'm having a bit of trouble getting it to eat (i'm hoping this is just because it's getting used to the new home). the only fish i've had a problem with are the chromis. one was dead this morning. at first i blamed the puffer, but now i'm not so sure it was his fault. i've been watching the fish and it seems like the chromis kind of pick on the puffer. when i first put them in the tank, the puffer swam right over to check them out. he never tried biting any of them, even though at times they literally swam right up to his mouth. he actually spent most of the day hanging out with them so i was kind of surprised to find the dead fish in the morning. then today i noticed that the puffer stayed away from the chromis and that when he did get close, they sometimes harassed him. i wonder if he actually attacked the one chromis out of self-defense (it wasn't eaten, just bitten). i'm hoping they'll eventually get along but should i do anything?
