Lumens is the intensity, Kelvin is the color.

lumens is intensity from discharge...a measurement of the light ouput of a lamp, or the SI unit of luminous flux. photometrically, it represents the luminous output of a source with a uniform emittance of 1 candela over a unit solid angle of 1 steradian. then you have initial lumens (start up)... and mean lumen (average)
kelvin is used to measure the color temerature spectrum of the lights normal daylight is usually between 4,000k and 7,000k the "cooler" the light gets the higher the degree if kelvin. kelvin is a measurement of temperature. 1degree F = 256 degrees Kelvin. 1degree C = 274 dgrees of kelvin.
