I have a question my current RO unit is 50gpd, When the time comes to replace the membrane cartridge, Can i slap in a 100gpd filter or must i order the whole filter assy filter, and canister? Are the 50gpd and the 100 gpd RO membranes the same size will they fit in each others cartridges?

Apophis924,

It is no problem to switch membranes out from 50 to 100 GPD. The housing is the same. The only thing you DO have to do is change the flow restrictor. (We provide a new restrictor with new membranes) The flow restrictor is specific to the membrane.

Some people have told me they have gotten advise to use a varible flow restrictor to cut down on waste water  BE ADVISED that will shorten the life of your membrane. In some cases it will give you only 4 - 6 months of use for an item that should last 2.5 to 3 years.

Let me know if you need more information.
