Hi ! Just want to say hello to everyone, I'm new here to the lounge.

Here's some pic from my 3 months old nano. Rightnow there's a Nemo, 2 chromis, 1 turbo snail, 1 emerald crab and a peppermind shrimp.

Q: For most pic with flash, I can't seem to get the white balance right. Neither they'r too wash out or it just isn't smart at all.

Any advice/comments are welcome ! :D

First, let me say those are some very clear pics, congratulations! Most of us can't get as good a quality shots as you just shared with us.
As far as composition, you are making the same general "mistake" as all new photographers. Take a paper, and draw a tic tac toe on it, so the lines all touch the sides of the paper. You now have a paper divided into 9 equal parts. The center should not be the focus of the picture. The subject you wish to highlight should be somewhere in one third of the picture. Either the top third, bottom third, left third, or right third. This is called (you ready for this?) the "rule of thirds"! Look at some of the most aesthetically pleasing photographs on this site. The best ones put their subject off center.

Thanks everyone

Hey Ludwigia,

So the subject should be on the points of intersections? or do you mean by having the subject in the middle but focus clear on the points of intersection?

Can you give me some examples? :)

Those shots are AMAZING. How did you get your fish to do that for you. And they are so clear. Incredible!
