just thought i'd start a thread for people to add what's presently going on in their tanks...everyone keep us posted with what is going on in your tank!

a few days a go...i awoke and in my routine get out of bed, stretch and go try to get a drink to un-parch my more than parched mouth, ritual...of course...i check out the ol' reef and say good morning to all my friends...

roll call...calliope (my tank raised percula clown) - check. ol' yeller (my sandsifting yellow cuke) - check. heckle and jeckle (mated pair of peppermint shrimp) - check...well...i see jeckle...but heckle (the male) oh wait...there he is...casper (my spotted anemone shrimp) - check. bandit the muscle man (my coral banded shrimp...who always looks like he's flexing for me)....bandit....bandit??? and much to my dismay....i see 2 muscle man pinchers protruding form the "mouth" of my white condylactis gigantica....

OH NO!!!!!!! surely the condy didn't eat my beloved CBS?

then...from the back of my reef...i see long antenna...bandit???? there you are...you scared me!!! he moult and the condy got the sloughed skin...eh, a little calcium couldn't hurt the condy...

and just lastnight i added a beautiful "kermit the frog fish" as my girlfriend calls it (a sailfin blenny). who will either be called kermie, or lenny the blenny, can't decide...anyhow...he's cool, but a butthead...which for the most part i don't mind...but man is he active in re-arranging my DSB...like i said i don't mind...but my fighting conches (who love burrying them selves) i bet they wish he'd stop.

anyhow...that's what's going on right now in my reef...how 'bout yours???

I had a little drama the other day in my Nano-reef tank.

I just got the TUNZE Magnet Cleaner (http://www.marinedepot.com/a_mi_tunze_mc.asp?CartId=%3C%25=CartID%25) for my tank, neat little deivce.

It comes with a 2 foot piece of rope to hold the two ends on the magnet together. I was cleaning my tank for about a half hour and got tired, so i left the magnet in the tank till i got to do it again, which was the next day.

I check on my tank and notice that the water level had gone down drastically ( it is a 8 gallon tanks) lost about a gallon. I thought i had a crack or a leak, looked all around, soaked up all the water that was around it, could not find any leak, so I cleaned it up and refilled the tank with some water to get the level back to the way it was.

Come back about an hour later to check on it, and again the tank had a puddle of water around it, After much investigation, I found out that the rope that they provide with the magnet was acting as a siphon and was taking the water out of my tank.

Moral of the story. Never leave string hanging out of your tank :)

I awoke today (kinda late- 12:01 PM) and went to go check up on my tank. I looked at my new sebae anemone that I recently bought 3 weeks ago, and was staring at it. I looked a bit closer, and found 2 small anemone shrimps living in the anemone :-D lol, it was cool. I never expected to see them :-)

Next, I checked up on everything else, same 'ol same 'ol, and found anonother bristol worm  Nothing too speciel going on in my tank :-D

PH =)

Ok, I have a new 60g (month and a half) Saturday while getting out of the shower my girlfriend yells "Why didnt you tell me we had a baby star fish?" all I could think of is "huh?" I ran in there and got yeld out for getting the carpet wet but sure enough there was a tiny white starfish on the side. Damn hes a busy guy he must be running at a full sprint all over the side of my tank...

yeah...i'd bet you have more than one though...

all kinds of cool hitchhikers come with live rock...take a look at your tank at night...under a red light, you'd be amazed how many brittle stars are in the in the rock...extending their arms looking for any passer-bys...

hope you didn't get i too much trouble getting the carpet wet...just tell your girlfriend "at least it's not tank water all over the carpet!"

i seem to have a spotted anemone shrimp (casper) gone M.I.A.

normally he is present in one of my condy's (i say he's got a summer and witer home)

however one of the condy's is mounted upside down on the "doorway of a cave"...which case the condy has a choice of which side of the rock to extend it's tentacles from...perhaps casper is residing in his witer home (which is extended on the other side for now)

let's hope one of the condy's didn't eat him...
