I have had a yellow tang for about 5 months. Recently it developed red streaks all over it's body like it is bleeding internally. My ammonia level was a little bit high so I added some Ammo Detox. I medicated the fish with Aquatronics Spectrogram and it disappeared temporarily. Any helpful advice would be appreciated.
What are you feeding the tang
Also what are your tank specks

72 gallon
2 damsels
1 bird wrasse
PH 8.4
nitrite 0
nitrate 10
ammonia .2
bi-weekly water changes
I medicated the whole tank and I think it broke down the bacteria bed.
I am planning on moving the tang to a 10g hospital tank if you think this is smart.

Sorry, I am new to this forum.
I have a berlin prizm pro skimmer
Amiracle wet/dry filter
I add Zoe to the water weekly for vitamins and I add it to their food.
I believe that is the best thing to do right now

You say you are feeding the Tang, but is it eating?
Sometimes tangs will get red markings on them when they are not eating correctly.
Also you might want to test your water again or with another test kit.
You may also have high ammonia, are there any other fish in the tank that have problems?
you might need to quarantine the tang in a quarantine tank.
If you do remove him from the tank, you can give him bacterial infection medication. It can be a bacterial infection if he is eating fine and the Ammonia levels are ok.
Most likely it is a bacterial infection.
Good Luck, let us know how it turns out.

Should I use Aquatronic Spectrogram to treat the quarantined Tang?
That is what I used last time but it did come back.

The red streaking is an internal bacterial infection. There are three strains that will cause this. Pseudomonas Sp. or Aeromonas Sp. or C. columnaris.
Best thing to do is remove the tang to a QT tank and treat with a good antibiotic. Maracyn by Mardel Labs or Aminoglycoside in conjunction with either penicillin. Be sure to keep the QT lights of to reduce stress and allow the medication to work properly.
Once placed back in the main tank, ensure proper feeding with vitamin enriched foods a couple of times a week. If frozen foods are being used, make sure it is completely thawed first. You may wish to consider a good spurlina flake food for daily feedings.

I have used Maracyn before and it doesn't do anything. I have already started treating the Tang with Spectrogram. All of my water levels were good so I quarantined the Tang. I will let you know if this medicine helps.
What do you think about Kanacyn?
Thank you everyone for all of your help!

Which Maracyn type did you use. Most marine bacterial infections are gram negative in nature and require the use of Maracyn II. It also contains a healthy dose of vitamins.
Sorry, not trying to beat a dead horse, just curious.. 8)
Cheers

I've tried both at different times. I just wasn't impressed with their products. I can give it a try if the Spectrogram doesn't do it. I should use Maracyn II, right?
Thank you again for all of your help!
