is a 4.5" sand bed too much for 29g

i just wanted to know if my sand bed is too deep. i have a 29 gallon tank that is about 13" deep, but i have about 4.5" of sand, is that bad??

4.5" of sand is fine for a reef tank.. Between 3-5 is the norm for a DSB.
Get yourself a few sand sifters, like some Nassarius Snails or a Fighting Conch. The conch may be hard this time of year, they seem to be seasonal.
