Cool you should get more live rock. What are your specs?

55 Gallon

40lbs marine sand
approx 20lbs LR
1 large fully submerged powerhead
1 smaller submerged powerhead
12" bubble wall
220W PC fixture 50/50
Magnum 350 Canister filer

Set up for 2 months

Residents

1 baby Marble Cat shark
1 clarkii clown
1 Bursa Trigger
1 Hawaiin Hawkfish
1 Striped Damsel
2 lawnmower blennies
2 anenomes
some crabs

I would like some more live rock but its so expensive. I am actually looking into registering my car club (My other hobby) as a business so I can shop in Ga's only wholesale supplier of fish. I went there with a freind of mine and got some KILLER deals on LR and a few fish, including sharky.

I can post some pics with fulll spectrum lighting, im trying to clear the tank up, its been a little cloudy and its 2am here, so i am watchin the fish, they seem to be more active at night with no lights on...

Also ordered some LEDs for that cool moonlight effect, cant wait to install them!

On a side note... my Clarkii clownfish, who paid no attention to my LT anenome till 2 days ago.. attacked my hand when i was cleaning the glass tonite... kinda funny...

You should make your tank a reef! Sell the aggresive fish and get mor live rock, and a skimmer. I have seen cat sharks in reef tanks before but they were small.

Well they arent exactly deemed reef safe. I would love to have it a reef tank but seeing as how its my first SW tank i decided to start FOWLR. My wallet cant fund a full reef yet. I will be looking to go 100+ gallon for the shark in the future. I would like to start aquiring the necessities for a reef tank tho. Been looking for skimmers on ebay all night.

I have a prizm protein skimmer on my 55 and it is ok. But I wish I could get a bak-pak2 skimmer those are the best for small-medium sized tanks. Why dont you check out refugiums. That is a natural way of filtration that is very good. I am going to make one soon.

Check out www.reefcentral.com an look under DIY. Thats a great site. Just get an old aquarium, an overflow box, return pump, sand, rock, lights, calurpra and I think thats it. The plants suck up all the nitrates and stuff and a refugium is a good source of pods. You could put your mean damsel in their!

The www.liveaquaria.com, www.saltwaterfish.com, or a LFS. But you mite want to go bigger. So their is more water volume and that meens you can keep more fish. I suggest grape calupra, or feather calurpra.

Calupra is a SW plant? I think my LFS uses this method on their LR tank. I am going with what will fit under my stand.. not that much room unfortunately... Do you think a 5 1/2 gallon with the canister would be sufficient?

The shark is in the first 2 pics.

I have had the clown about 2 months. I bought a bigger one cause of the trigger, didnt want him to bother him.

The clown actually feeds on the feeder guppies. Some flake food. But he LOVES him some guppies/
.
The shark feeds on feeders and feeder goldfish. He doesnt really hunt em down tho, prefers u to handfeed him. He grabbed hold of my trigger a few days ago, trigger got a lil too close during feeding time... didnt harm him tho... His teeth are soo small he just swallows stuff whole
