Wondering how much wattage I need for a 80 gallon tank... trying to grow a few corals in there along with some anemones. Any special types of light you need or what?

i would look into getting at least VHO lighting , and depending on the type of corals , possibly a halide .

what type of tank is it? Bow front?

if it is i would put 2 250 halides. ( if ya got the pocket for it )

if not i would put VHO ice caps ( 4 bulbs )

buy the retro kits, there cheaper ( if ya know how to connect them.)

320 to 400 watts of VHO would be enough for you to keep some corals in that tank now.. You could always add the MH as a retro as your pocket book allows.
