Anemones seem to be my speciealty  hehehe  lol
Likely your anemone is moving because it is not happy with its current environments. It could be as simple as there's a bit too much current to the right, or as complicated as the substrate is not correct.
Which anemone is this? I need the exact species name, and scientific name. Such as Sebae Anemone, heteractics crispa or something like that. Different anemones will need different habitats. The carpet anemones usually prefer to be burried in the substrate, with only their oral disk shown, while as the Long tentacle anemone usually appears fully opened on rocks.
Some ideas to think about would be:
1. Too much current
2. Too little current
3. Too much lighting (Zooxanthellae getting bured)
4. Too little lighting
5. Incorrect food
6. Not enough substrate
7. Incorrect water conditions
I am really not supprised at all that it is moving. Something is not correct, and the anemone is moving to find an area that is good for it. I have a feeling this anemone will not find a spot in your tank; reason being anemones do have a horrible survival rate in captivity. Most aquariums will not be good enough for anemones. Bubble tips seem to be the only anemones which have seemed to evolve into our tanks, while the sebae anemone almost always dies.
Even the bubble tip will require good conditions. From my personal experience, CAPTIVE BREED ANEMONES SHOULD ALWAYS BE BOUGHT!!! I Cannot stress enough that you should always buy captive breed anemones! These have a much better survival rate, will require less lighting, and have already proven themselves to thrive in the home aquarium. Almost all imported anemones die within 3 months, with a few exeptions.

anemones do move from time to time, and in a new setup, they'll move lots until they're happy. if they've been in one spot for a long time then move several times, something is more than likely wrong.

I agree... There's something it's not happy with.
I had an anenome for about 2 years. It did fine in the center of my tank until I moved the aquarium to my new apartment. It sat on its rock for about a week or 10 days. Then it started moving all around... to different places every day & then just died.
I thought I was lucky having had it survive and even GROW! for just shy of 2 years.
well it was fine for past 7 monthes and then moved, and now it looks to be open EVEN MORE!!!

I've had a bubble-tip for over a year now in two different tanks. It has split twice. I even scraped it off the glass of my old tank to move it into my new tank.
Every now and then it will pick up and walk-about, then go right back to its original spot and sit for awhile.
But, if your anemone walks around and does not settle back down, then there is a concern, but I think moving to a new spot is not a big deal.
