Looks like a very nice tank smy168! Your xenia looks awesome!...very healthy!

Matrix, likely the fans are there because of the Metal Halides heating the tank...MH can get very hot, usually heating the tank up.

A little history about this tank.....it started in my old apartment and when I moved we moved it to my friends place, the tank has been around for about a year and this was set up about 8/02. I wish there was a pic from the other side, the tank was set up with some depth, it has a...valley that divides the tank into 2 sides and offers a view straight to the back where some shrimps and flame scallops hang out. Sort of a cresent moon with a half moon inside the curve.

The fans are to keep the water cool, the MH does heat up the tank quite a bit and we still don't have a sump on it yet. and yes the fans make some pretty cool top water movement for gas exchange.

I'm getting ready to set up a 125 in the new place, gonna make it a see through wall so that the tank is actually going to be viewable from both 48 inch sides....real excited about this.

Thanks for the comps on the 54, it has been nothing but fun!
