hello,
what is the best way to convert lionfish from live food to shrimp/frozen food? Also, I have a 30 gal. quarantine tank. Is that too small to quarantine a volitan lion?

thanks,
Mike

I had success using a feeding stick, wiggeling the food in front of the lion. it took some work, and he went on a food strike for about a week, but he came around.

That's not too small of a quarantine, but hopefully your tank is atleast 75 gallons for a fish that large.

I stuck a piece of krill on the end of my turkey baster and wiggeled it through the water. That worked for me. My lion did not each the first couple of days though. He eats anything now!!! Flake food and all!! Right out of my hand. What type of lion is it? I know that volitals are easier to feed. These guys need at least a 75 gallon when full grown. I had him in a 30 gallon hospital tank when I first got him too. The dwarf variations I've heard you can keep in a 30.
