I'm looking for input on these guys. Has anyone bought live rock/sand? I am curious about the quality and service.
Thanks,
Andrew

Andrew, I have not ordered from them yet, but i can tell you that i did some asking around, and they seem to be very good.
Their prices are some of the lowest ones I have been able to find. Even though i think the amount they say to put into each tank is a little higher than most people recommend.
Let me know if you order from them, as i will be after the new year.
I was just thinking, maybe since you guys kinda live close and shipping can be big $$$ maybe you two should split a big box!! Just a thought!

I have been there, live rock looks high quality, but is dense so will weigh more than standard LR. I have not bought any at this time, but will as I continue to add. Lots of bright colors other than purples, like oranges, greens, red. Read their ad in fish mags or their web site, its what they claim.

I have heard good things too, other than the occational mantis shrimp taking a trip on the rock to your tank.

I have purchased from tampa bay saltwater I live about 1.5 hrs from them south in sarasota they are pretty good on prices and they are really good on making sure there rock and items stand up in quality I have purchased critter packages from them and 45lbs of live rock from them about a year and a half ago and it is gleaming with color reds maroon pink and bright green and has continued through out my tank onto my reef rubble they are up to high standards from hand picking to letting you hand pick what you like if you live here in the area also purchased some serpent stars from them for a measily$4.00 each they have pretty good customer service in my eyes.

more than anything i have a lot of respect for TBS!!! :D
knowing their history, i think it's pretty safe to say that if people knew how hard they have strived, fought eternal "red tape", and have been doing it as long as they have...that they to would have a lot of respect for TBS.
take the time to read about the companies history.
i also respect them for being ecologically sound. the government mandated that LR be cultivated by terms of aquaculture, as ecologist lobbied that the reefs were being destroyed. in "mandating" this, they offered no physical allocations for LR to be farmed. the rules on land were so specific, and there being no support from the government to survey a "suitable" grid of ocean floor, it's a wonder how TBS ever made it out...for more than 20 years now.
i would feel confident in buying rock from them anytime!
