I have always wanted a saltwater tank, since I was teen. Many years later I decided to pick up the hobby. I first started easy with the 40 gallon to learn (2 years ago). I THEN STARTED TO GET THE ITCH! I visited my LFS and he had this tank on display reduced. 1/2 hour later it was in the back of my truck.
I started slowly, first getting the new tank cycled and the adding the live rock. Once I felt comfortable with the ecosystem and moved my reef friendly fish out of my 40 and into the 75 ( I still keep the 40 going for a qt
tank.)
I then did my research on corals, then bought the ones that appealed to me. I am sort of lucky in that my LFS guy is GREAT (owns and manages the store). Can't say enough good things about him, made a difference.

Sounds good except for the crocea clam they need powerful light . Maybe you could keep it if youput it really close to the lights. Can you show us a pic of the tank with the cameras flash off it tanke the color of the lighting out? I think your tank looks awesome!!! Good job!

whoa bro i suggest you go to ReefCentral.com and start digesting the information... 3 tangs in a 75gal tank crazy!!! those things need a lot of room when they grow they love to swim. Your equipment is questionable also i dont mean to rain down hard or anything. Canister filters are really not good for a reef system.

Your right about the tangs. I have had two the blue and convict for 2 years in my 40 fish only. I then bought the sailfin and they have been together for six months in my 75 gallon. No issues.
As far as the canisters. It's no the most efficient way,but I know alot of reefers that use canisters. This is my first reef tank and I stuck with what I was comfortable with. I clean the canisters every two weeks.

you say no issues but in the wild these fish swim upwards to 5miles in a day...but to each his own
