My tank is now just over 1 year old. It has came a LONG ways since my
initial few pounds of live rock and couple damsels.

My tank plan was to build a peaceful environment focusing on low to mid
level lighting. I have since added many types of corals, and fish to
accomplish what seems to be a happy mini-ocean.

I have always been facinated with aquatic life. As in many cases the
animals being kept in reef tanks are delicate and being thretened in their
natural environment, I take this hobby very seriously. I have spent many
hours to research and observe every creature I have placed in my reef.

I faithfully follow a maintenance schedule to keep my tank parameters to the best quality possible.

By spending an average of only 10 to 20 minutes a day actually working on my
reef (including feeding, testing, etc.) I have been rewarded with a tiny
peice of one of the worlds most delicate yet complicated ecosystems. I
spend a lot of time lounging in front of my tank watching the corals sway in
the current, relaxing me to the point of almost falling asleep. It seems
that every time I closely observe the life in my little reef it is yet a new
adventure. This hobby has been very educational and rewarding to me. When
I talk to others about my reef I seem to always express great deal of
passion for the hobby. I could sometimes talk for hours about the fun and
exciting critters that have made their home in my reef.

My tank has a 4-5" sand bed with a mix of 80% Aragonite and 20% live sand.
I have my live rock aranged in an arch type shape across the middle of the
tank. I have many arches and "caves" throughout the design.

Photos of the tank, lighting, and filter setup are available at the
following link.
