The tank is an oceanview 150 gallon room divider drilled in the center. It is berlin method tank using 200 lbs.of Fiji liverock and a Precision Marine Bullet II skimmer driven by a Sedra 1200. The overflow goes to a 32 gallon Rubbermaid sump wher skimming takes place 24/7 and is returned via a Mag 12. The main tank water volume movement is aided by 4 Maxiejet 1200 powerheads. Each powerhead is attatched to one of the sides of the center overflow pointing down with helps draw water through the rock. My lighting consists of 8 110w URI VHO bulbs driven by 2 Icecap 660 ballast. The photo period is 11 hrs a day. The tank evaporates 2 1/2 gallons a day and top off water is processed through a SpectraPure CSP-DI 60 reverse osmosis filter. I do a 20 gallon a month water change using Kent Marine salt mix. All other supplements are added though Kent Marine products (Tech I, Turbo calcium, Super buffer dKH, Kalkwasser).

Tank water parameters are as follows:

Ca=440 ppm

Alk=12dKH

pH=8.2

ammonia,nitrite,and nitrate are undetectable

Well I doubt I listed eveything but thats most of it. I started with 2 domino damsels in a 10 gallon tank eleven years ago. I was hooked and never looked back. I graduated a year later to 55 gallon and then 2 years after that a 140 gallon. The 140 held me for 6 years until my wife and I started doing a little remodeling and decided to do the biult in tank we have now. I am really lucky to have a spouse that supports me in so many ways. Alot of the pieces in my current tank are the originals I started with all those years ago. I remember when I first started all my LFS said that only softies will multiply and fish will not breed in captivity. Now I can and have propagated every coral in my tank. It is a terrific feeling to know that your not destroying sealife for the simple pleasure of viewing it. I really enjoy the friends I have made though this hobby and am always interested in its advance.
