I have a 75 gallon Oceanic RR tank that is set up as basically an SPS only tank. As for as corals, I have:
A. albrolhosensis
Seriatapora
A. gemmifera
A. humilis
Hydnophora
A. millepora
A. sp (tri-color)
A. hyacinthus
A. sp red with purple polyps
4 unidentified A. sp
A. tortuosa
Purple Montipora Capricornis
Pink digitata
blue tipped A. Elsyi
unidentified Tri-color Acro stag
Purple A. millepora
A. selago
Purple tipped A. valida
unidentified acro stag
Tri-color A. valida
I also have one 4 inch Aqua-ish Maxima Clam
As for fish, I have:
3 blue green chromis', or chromi?
1 purple fire fish
1 Rainsford Goby
and the regular cleanup crew with turbos, hermits, a serpent star, nassarius snails, and 2 peppermint shrimp
Now, as far as the what makes the tank work:
My parameters are:
salinity-1.025
temp- 79-80
alk- 13.8
calcium-450-460
ammonia/trite/trate-undetectable
ph- 8.2-8.4
phosphate- undetectable
We feed our own homeade fish and coral food once per day, and supplement with golden pearls and phytoplankton every other day
I use a Durso standpipe for my overflow(awesome)
I have a DIY automatic water top off utilizing a float switch
I have a DIY calcium reactor utilizing the geo style(built by Scubadude, who is on many boards)
my sump is a marine life aquatics 250 with three canisters that are filled ever so often with carbon and rarely phosphate sponge
I have an Aqua C EV120 skimmer with a Dolphin DP-560 as the pump for that
I have a Custom Sea Life 1/4 hp chiller that is fed by a Mag 5
My return pump is a Gen X Mak 4
For waterflow that SPS so desperately need I keep my return pump flowing wide open(1190 gph @ 4ft) and I also have 3 Maxi Jet 1200s on a wave timer
My lighting consists of 2 400 watt radiums run on a Sunlight Supply bluewave ballast and 2 Iwasaki 250 watters run on a pfo ballast.
My lighting schedule is
9:00 AM -Radiums on
12:00 AM- Sakis on
3:00 PM- Sakis off
9:00 PM- Radiums off
As far as what my tank means to me, the tank is my wife and my baby. We are constantly messing with things and trying to improve upon everything to give the inhabitants the best life they can have. We are upgrading the tank to a 135 in the next month, and we will be adding a new skimmer (Marine Life Aquatics Predator 2) and new powerheads (2 tunze turbelle 6080s). Thanks so much for your consideration, here are some pics!!
I am redoing my web site and it will be published by Tuesday at http://www.ocean-oasis.com . It is a huge website. All of my equipment, corals, growth sequences, and everything else is there. Thanks so much for your time and consideration. Have a great day!
