I've got 2x 200w heaters... where should I site them in my tank?
Also my powerheads?
Thanks in advance. :roll:

heaters: ideally, in the sump...but if not possible, along the back wall submerged horizontally, on high right, one low left.
powerheads placed top left corner pointing towards the front and to the right some...right powerhead placed on the right side, about 2" lower than the left, and pointed at the opposite powerhead, so that it streams current along the back wall to the 1st powerhead...

I do mine the same, but it also works to put one in each back corner and have them pointed to meet in the front center. Creates a good random current throughout the rest of the tank.

thanks guys
in 6 weeks I've gone from knowing nothing about keeping a marine tank to a stage where tomorrow I start to put my setup together...
The hardware is bought, the RO water is ready, the LR is sourced. It's all finally coming together.
You've helped considerably. Many thanks.

I hear that a little spot of silicon gel in the cup of the sucker, when applied to a dry tank, can help wonders in helping to ensure the little blighters stay fixed for longer.

The silicone should do the trick, just remember it was for the "best" when you go to remove them too! :P :D
You're finally getting to the fun part....prepare to have your interest in this hobby peak even further when you get the pumps running and you see all your planning evolving right in front of you. I'll venture to say after it matures a bit and is full of life EVERYWHERE, your wife will thank you for the big tank. :wink:
has anyone seen the moving powerheads?

has anyone seen the moving powerheads?
Yeah, they are a waste of money. They will usually break down and stop turning in about a month. Most of them get stuck in one position, so IMO, they aren't worth it.
PH =)
I can agree with that 100% I thought it was a good thing untill it started to stick and now I use is to circulate my mixing water.

Do they cost a lot more?
Yes. Depending at the store you buy it from. Some will charge much more than others.
