Some of my rock, the stuff that is not yet covered with coralline algae has taken on a fluorescent green color, (same color as my brightly fluorescing corals). It doesn't appear to be three-dimenional. I've got some on my glass too and I had to scrape hard to get it off (as opposed to diatoms which practically blow off or get eaten by snails).

Is this algae? bacteria? good? bad? It doesn't look so bad, but I'm hoping start dosing calcium and have a more natural looking red/purple coralline growth instead.

I've had the same algaein my tank. you can see where the snails leave tracks from eating it in my tank. i've had no problems with it. it started covering my base rock really fast but i've got pinks and purples growing over it. i too did the hard scrub tonight to rid it off my glass. i'm guessing if i get more snail it will help keep in under control on the glass.
