I have 40pds of live rock 2 emperor 400's one skimer and one canister.
Just let me know what you all think. I'm trying to go reef tank but need more stuff to get there.

First of all, how big's your tank? I don't think you can overfilter, but corals eat a lot of the stuff that floats in the water, so if you convert to a reef tank, you'll have to keep an eye on that and make sure you feed them and they get enough to eat since a lot of it will be fitered out. I have two emperor 400s on my tank too and they're working great.

Just to give you a simple and easy answer....
You can't over filter a tank.
The better the filtration system...the less work for you. :wink:

You can't overfilter, but you CAN overspend. Do some research, ask questions, and just buy what you need.

It is definatly true that you can not over filter a tank but the fact remains that the more filtration there is, the more chance there will be for nitates.
