I'm looking at getting back into keeping a reef tank again and need some info. I would like to get a "reef ready" system, something that would be self contained. Im looking for a tank no larger than 30 gallons and can be either glass or acrylic(i know acrylic can scratch easy). Thanks for the help! I plan to be a frequent visitor!

If you want acrylic, then tenecor is good, I like mine. Here is one place to get them, there are several others that are good also. They have options for show tanks, (no plumbing), through "reef ready" with sumps, pumps, hoses, skimmers etc. They can be a bit pricey though (acrylic that is) so shop around.

I don't know much about glass tank manufacturers, so can't recommend any, but lots of choices there too.

The "reef ready" versions will usually allow all the plumbing, sump, protien skimmer, etc to fit in the stand beneath the tank (that's how I've got mine set up). I am, however, getting ready to do some remodeling, and in that process I will be running the plumbing into a closet behind the tank (concealed from view) that will give me MUCH more room to put stuff (and get at it as needed). The one I have is a corner version that fits in my rather small waiting room, with everything except the chiller underneath the tank well concealed.

I'm going to put it up against the wall next to my entertainment center and dont have a lot of room. Didnt want to go to large for a tank and really just wanted to keep corals and a couple of fish. I wish I could load some vid tape to my computer and post some picture os what i had at the time, it was awesome! One of the neatest things was a pair of Clarki's(don't what sex the were) made a feather duster their home, was kind of cool! the feather duster didnt seem to mind.
