I was wondering if Kick-ich and no-ich were basicaly the same made by different companies. Kich-ich ingredent is 5-nitroimidazoles. This is what i purchased and reading the mixed reviews was wondering if no-ich had the same ingredents.

I started using the Kick-Ich on Wednesday. I have added 2 treatments and do not see any more spots on my fish. I understand that its because they have fallen off and Kick-ich only kills in the free swimming stage. I am still taking this as a good sign since no more spots are showing up. My corals look good with no affect on them so far. I will update as I go. I would still like to know if anyone has No-Ich and what the ingredents are.

Are you refering to the product made by FishVet aka ecolibrium (http://www.fishvet.com/pages/disease2.tmpl?sku=05)?

If so, there is no ingredient list. It only claims to be made from stabalized rare earths.

Thanks Steve. I have read mixed reviews about Kick-ich. The FishVet website is calling it No-Ich now and that is what is listed on the bottle. I have only heard of the No-Ich here and not seen it for sale on many internet supply shops. The LFS here are not very good so I resort to ordering online. I purchased the Kick-ich before I seen your recommendation for No-ich. I am going to finish the treatment and see how well it works. Have you had much experence with both treatments and what were the results.

Thanks for your Help!

I have never used the Kick-ich product by Ruby Reef. To be honest I would never use anthing in the display tank that requires a water change after it's use.

If I am not mistaken, it requires a 50% water change after treament is done or was that the Rally?

Cheers

It must be Rally. The Kick-Ich says on the bottle that it is biodegradable after 4-5 days. That is why I thought it could be the same as No-Ich. I also would not use anything in the display tank unless I had no other option. I am working on a QT and a Propigation tank. I will not purchase any other fish until I have the QT up and running.

Well the treatment did not go well. I setup a Hospital and move the fish over to it. I lost a Clown Tang and Manderin. I am treating with copper now and all except the Blue tang look better. This is only the 3rd day in the tank so I have a while to wait. I am not sure if i should move them from the Hospital tank to a QT when they start looking better on just leave them in the Hospital until all are better. Any thoughts would be helpful.

I can not find a better treatment for Ick than Garlic. You need to get some
Kyolic Garlic extract. I add it to my Food, which i Use Mysis Shrimp.
I usually place the shrimp in a cup and add the garlic too it, it is best to
make up more than needed and keep in the Refrigerator. You need to
let the mixture soak overnight, if you make up more than needed you
will always have some to feed. I have had great luck using this treatment.
The fish will go crazy for the Garlic, It is like catnip to Fish. Try it you
will be surprised.

Reef safe medications don't work most of the time. The best treatment for ich is hyposalinity. You might want to check out www.advancedaquarist.com for a series of articles on ich.

I guess I found out the hard or expensive way that reef safe Ich meds do not work. After the dosing no one looked better. They even looked worse. I broke down and setup a QT it was probably for the best since I plan on purchasing more fish. I will keep it setup until I am finished with buying fish for my 90 Gallon. My Blue tang still has Ich she has been in copper and another parasite treatment and still has spots. I am leaving her in the QT until she looks better. Anyone have a suggestion about what to do?
