I have to say, recently I learned there was going to be a new saltwater fish store in the Chicagoland. So, I had to investigate. Luckily not far away from my house, I hopped in the car and made my way to Aquatica in Tinley Park.
WOW!!! is all i have to say. Immediately when you pull up, you're impressed by the store front. And walking in is an even better treat! You can't help but be astonished that in the middle of the store is a 3,000 gallon tank set up specifically for sharks. And only two, two-footers at that. I know what you're thinking...why would an aquarium store even carry sharks? Quite truthfully there are enough people in this area that very well have tanks large enough to house one. (As it's no surprise as there are about 50 saltwater stores within a 30 mile radius of my house...)
Regardless of the sharks...here we have a LFS that is reponsible enough to give them enough room to survive in, rather than cramming them into a 40 gallon. And the responsibility doesn't end there. Over the entire reef side are mounted MH's. And from a seperate system on the opposite side of the store, I bought some chromis, and Rob (the owner) was responsible enough to tell me, "make sure you don't put this water in your tank, there's copper in the fish side." (not that I would have, but at least he told me!)
Stop in and see Rob! Tell him you saw the thread on Reeflounge.com, he may take care of you...
