I am going on two weeks since I removed my

Blue tang
Sailfin tang
Convict tang
clown fish
coral beauty

from my display tank. I have treated them with a copper based med, and they are doing fine. In reading various postings on the forum, it says that I should leave the tank fallow for 4 to 6 weeks.

Here's the question

I left my snow flake moray and a algae blennie in the display tank. They never showed any signs of the ICH and are doing fine. Is this a problem. Could they be hosting the ICH without showing any signs? Do I need to QT them as well?

Depending on the blennie species, the problem with the QT is if it does not accept prepared foods, it will most likely starve. If it does accept prepared foods I would definately QT it. Even though you may not see the trophonts on the fish does not mean they aren't there somewhere. If you choose not to QT, I would leave the quarantined fish being treated now for at least 2 months and hope!!!

The eel is highly resistant to the parasite but by no means impervious. You should be careful though what you decide to do as it will not tolerate copper and most likely quite eating. The best "overall" treatment that all except non-boney fish will tolerate is >>hyposalinity (http://www.petsforum.com/personal/trevor-jones/hyposalinity.html)<<. Hypo must still be done in a QT but must not be combined with copper meds.

You have a tough desicion ahead and I wish you luck!!

Cheers
