experience with wavemakers

If I can find the budget I am minded to get a wavemaker. This seems to be an ideal solution to helping to create more natural currents and waterflows. The alternative of using timers would work, but I prefer the idea one box and like the way that the wavemakers warm up the powerheads gradually.

Can anyone tell me please... are they difficult to wire up and install?
