Sorry if this is duplicate. I can't find my post, so I'm posting this again.

I just bought a true percula this morning. What do you guys recommend for feeding? (brand and type) I'm still new at this and just want to double check before I go buy the food.

Also feel free to include any other tips about this fish. When I bought my tang, I had no idea they change colors when the light went out and I thought that I was doing something wrong. Do the clowns have any characteristics like this?

Thanks!

Clowns like most damsel species are omnivors with a preference for meaty foods. You should try to feed them a good fortified flake or prepared food that covers all the basics. Most times in a new tank, especially with wild caught clowns they can be quite picky. If the flake doesn't do the trick you may need to opt for mysis or brine but be sure to fortify the meats with a good liquid vitamin. Also remember that they have rather small mouths so break up the foods so they are small.

Most all fish to some degree have this kind of behavour. Clowns will also sleep on their sides, near equipment or adopt just anything else.

Cheers
