Hello everyone.. I am letting everyone know about my auctions site and looking for people selling saltwater fish and equipment to post auctions.. as there doesnt seem to be any aquatic auctions sites containing much of anything like Skimmers, Powerheads, Wet/Dry, VHO and Halide Lighting all of these would be a popular item I believe so... if any of you have any of this stuff laying around from the past reef tank.. go ahead and post it up.. its all free so nothing to lose.. have a good day..

Actually yeah.. Would you consider a link trade? if you have a 468x60 banner or a 88x31 we can swap and exchange traffic which helps us both out.. if you want a banner you can find one here http://www.fishbowlauctions.com/linking.php?
and thanks for the warm welcome.. not alot of forums out there anymore that notice new comers anymore.. and I will be sure to share my Ideas and am sure I will be asking questions in here about my new 55 gallon reef tank i am in the slow process of building.. Reef tanks are just incredibly awesome.. and will be excited to see it in a year from now..

volitan

Banner? Maybe? Or I can make one for ya if ya want.. I would like to advertise for ya as I really enjoy reading and posting on this board.. this board is more informative and friendly then I am used to at other boards.. (example www.reefs.org Lots of flaming and bashing going on there.. just not a welcoming place for newbies).. so keep up the good work :):) :D :D

 perhaps, we can have other sponsors too!
volitan...what's your feeling on live fish/inverts auctioned away?
volitan

No different then when I buy them from Salwaterfish.com or ffexpress.com if the people ship them in the same fashion there shouldnt be any problems.. and a responsible reefer will know the proper way to ship a live coral or fish.. right?

Kinda pointless to advertise two auctions sites? or atleast I think it would be a waste of my money to pay for advertising along side of aquabid.com

Ok.. lets say I did wanna try and battle it out with aquabid somemore.. how much do you get for advertising?

So much for any positive outlook on this topic.. good luck on reeflounge.com auctions site.. instead of positive support, I gained even more competition.. Hmmm.. whats this world coming too..

volitan, i dont think we are in competition of each other, we just added the feature, because many vendors wanted to donate items to use, that we can use to earn some extra $$ or to give away for prizes, We figured the auction format would be the best to get the members involved and make us some extra money.
Your site is more general, ours is just for reef/marine items :)
Hope you continue to use our site.

Hmmm.. sure wish I had vendors giving me stuff that I could use for profit.. as of right now there is no profit coming from my site.. all the hosting fees and whatnot come straight up outta my wallet.. getting people to give me money is not my goal.. I would atleast just like to see my money invested turn into something useful.. instead of just wasting hosting fees on nothing everymonth.. I dont expect my site to turn into aquabid or ebay overnight.. but would atleast like to see more then 20 some auctions posted at max and nobody bidding on anything.. people are posting the same items on other auctions sites and they sell.. so I dont understand what the deal is.. I had a tough entering into the auction site world.. as the first script I tried was a complete bogus pile of bugs and errors.. then I went to what I have now PHPAUCTION.. same as you are now using and it was full of bugs aswell.. but after long hours of banging my head on the wall and sifting through the many many scripts I managed to get a what I believe is a 100% working auctions site.. and as stated above I am footing the entire bill here and will not buy the version you have untill I see it feasable to invest anymore money into it.. as if you didnt notice I am not using Pro version.. only the GPL.. enough of this story..
Hey
I feel for you and I wish i could sell things both sites. I feel that you have worked hard but what do you pay for I am just wondering not to get on you? I mean for the domain? Anyway yes it is hard out there in a compative world :( and I hope you to the best. I would contact some vendors and see what they say  . Good luck and I hope you stay here!

Cost of Hosting, its not free to have a website on the internet.. It was cheaper for me when I started fishbowlauctions.com and was hosting it myself on my Cable internet.. but it seemed the site took quick and was getting triple digit number of hits each day.. so I then moved to a new host gighost.com (was a mistake servers were not configured correctly) and the site did not run properly on it.. after that episode I moved to my current host pchost4u.co.uk (no server isnt in UK its actually located in Texas on a Optical Connection) But the host has set the server time to UK time which is why the time is ahead on my site.. :( anyways.. after messing around with moving the site from Cable internet to a Highspeed server the Daily Visitors went down to around 50 unique visitors a day :( and still stays pretty low and most it hits now is around 110.. todays actual unique visitors as of midnight was 33 :( and no bids on anything since cant remember when.. and no new auctions posted since 12/18/02 which is three days ago.. I am not asking for any sympathy I Plain Straight up want to know why is it that all other sites for example 1. Aquabid.com 2. Aquaauctions.com 3. SavageBid.com can all have auctions and people bidding on it at a pretty constant and growing rate.. but yet my site is Dying.. and I get negative action (meaning Nothing happening on site or just negative feedback) no matter where I mention it? Just cause I dont have Buy It Now feature? I will not spend even more money on the site to get Buy It Now feature unless the site shows potential of becoming anything.. Anyways.. enuff of this boring story.. If you wanna help out by using my site thats great..If not.. I guess I can say I tried..
ok you have the right to say that, and I respect that! Pleaser stay at this site and I hope you can learn a lot!
