I was wondering if anyone had any idea on how many gph I should have for my sump to my tank. The distance is about 4.5 ft.

Can you give us a little more info?
What size main tank?
What size sump?
Is sump being used as refugium?
What is the the distance from water level to water level?
How many returns and overflows?
Reef Ready?
These will help us help you find the right pump!!!

There are too many posibilities without your current tank discription. Just a random guess, but I would get 250gph :-)

That is a little slow!! Is it going to be a sump or a refugium?

Remember, that's just a guess :-) Until we know what other things he has in his tank, we cannot give him an exact answer
