Sick Snowflake??

my snowflake is getting a scaly look under his mouth and back towards his stomach.?? idk what it is,stress? what would cause my fish to breath fast?

How long have you had the eel and what else is housed with it? It is possible for them to carry ick however very unlikely it would become sick if in a tank where C irritans is present. More likely it would be flukes or possibley skin damage from coarse substrate.

If refering to the eel, it is normal for them to breath fast. They must take in water so it flows over there gills unlike fish.

If this is finned fish breathing fast, check ammonia and ph levels. Something may be askew there or insufficient surface aggitation allowing for low O2 levels.
