when i open the air inlet it puts micro-bubbles everywhere looks like it is snowing in my tank ........ it says there is a break in cycle of up to a week. My question is if i run it with the air inlet closed will that break it in or do i just have to put up with the bubbles?

Thanks 8)

with the air...that air is part of the break-in...you let it run without the air for a week...you turn it on, you're more than likely to have bubbles for another week...

One thing to note about the Seaclone, it's not the most efficient. I have one and I was not very happy with it.

After a few weeks if it is working properly, then It's all good.

If not, come back to this thread and post again in a few weeks. I can tell you how to modify it. I won't further confuse the issue by telling you now without giving the skimmer a chance to work on it's own. I just wanted you to be aware of it.

How big is the tank?

Cheers
Steve

Try and cut back on the air setting. I would use a higher quality air valve than the one that comes with it. When the foam head gets stable, open it up until you get it right. Good luck!

i also have air bubble problems and was waiting for it to break in so that i know it's not the breaking in period.it's been three days and still loads of air bubbles in my tank.and there are no foam in my collection cup.i am running a sump on a 30 g tall tank with seaclone 100.there are no fishes but had the tank for over a year.just recently went all out and got me the whole set.could there be no foam cause there are no fishes?

On mine I turned the air valve all the way open, after 4 or 5 days it quit putting bubbles in the tank.
