how do you have your lighting arranged in your canopy?

I just finished building a new canopy for my tank. and would like to know how you have your lighting arranged in your canopy?. the new canopy will have 2-400 watt AB 10K bulbs on PFO reflectors and 2- 03 and 1- 50/50 VHO bulbs. the Metal Halide will be approx. 10in from the water my question really starts on were/what distance do I put the VHO bulbs from the water.at the same distance from the water as the metal halide or do I put them about 4in from the water .

Personally, you should have the VHO actinics at the same hight as the Metal Halide lighting, likely where the reflector is also located.

I have my lighting as such:

65wt PC.........65wt PC
250wt MH.....250wt MH
65wt PC.........65wt PC

Lighting is 10" from the water surface.

I also vote for the same height.All my lights are about 8inch off the surface.

This is how I have mine:

110 watt VHO actinic
110 watt VHO white
110 watt VHO actinic
30 watt NO actinic
250 watt mh .......... 250 watt mh
30 watt NO actinic
110 watt VHO actinic

that's some mad crazy lighting...canopy must be packed with brightness...i bet the police could use your lights for interrogation!:lol: :wink:

Not much you can do with a Bowfront!!!

LOL canopy is very full I dont think I could put anymore lights in it,But it looks good and my corals love it. :D
