My co-worker brought in her Fuji Film FinePix6800 Zoom and let me play around with it. I threw the pics I took up on my website. It’s a huge download, but worth it I think. I’m in the market for a camera, so if people would like to start a rant on their favs, go ahead : )

Not really a fave...yet...but Cannon just came out with an economy version of the 10D DSLR. It is missing a few of the bells or whistles from the 10D and has a plastic rather than an alloy body, but the 300D or "Digital Rebel" looks to be an awesome 6MP cam for under 900.00. I am seriously looking at getting one, if you want a cam you can do anythng with (and use your old canon lenses) it is something to consider ;)

i've always been partial to nikon system...and i've shot on everything. however, cannon has turned my eye with the new digital rebel. i had it in my hands today, as well as the 10D. the rebel packs a punch for a full featured digital SLR. it's lightweight, and still fairly compact (persay compared to the kodak14...that thing is a pig!)
so, case in point. i have money invested in my nikon lenses. but nikon has to do something to compete with cannon's lineup. as well, nikon has to come down in price!!! the D100 just recenly came down $400 and for what? a 3+megapixel camera??? i have a sufficient "prosumer" camera (fujis602zoom) that cost less than half of the now reduced $1,600 D100. now with the release of the D2 things aren't any clearer. they didn't do much to improve the D1's capabilities. infact, nikon hasn't talked much at all about any new camera designs in the past year! :? :? :?
look out nikon, you just may lose some of the market to cannon!
other digital SLR's i had in my hands today was the new Contax N, the Kodak DCS 14n, and the Sigma SD9...(as well as the Nikon D100, and the Cannon EOS-10d, and Digital Rebel. )
