You may have a problem with those two in that size tank. The Mandarins are territorial and will not take well to similar species. You may do ok since you added them at the same time, but keep an eye on them.

Here is what LiveAquaria.com (http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?siteid=21&pCatId=551) has to say about the Mandarin

It should be kept in a well-established 30 gallon or larger aquarium with live rock, live sand, and plenty of hiding places. It is moderately hardy in reef aquariums if given special care. It is not overly aggressive towards other fish, except for conspecifics.

Also, based on what they say here there may not be enough food for both of them. Do you have a refugium to help with production of copepods?

I have them on different sides of my tank, which is 2 30's connected by 1 6" tubes. I have both copes and amphipods in my tank, they've been there for about 2-4 weeks and im starting to see a lot of them run around when I pick up a piece of rock. Once I can figure out how to put this 29 gallon tank under my 60 gall, I won't have a refugium. But as of now they seem happy. They met eachother in 1 of the tubes, they just looked at eachother and went back to different sides.

Ok, I was going by the info in your sig stating that you have a 29 Gal tank. Sounds like they may do ok. I'd still keep an eye on them to make sure the Mandarin stays put and that they look like they are getting enough to eat. What do you feed your other fish? Some of these dragonets will eat live brine shrimp as well as some other foods, but most just eat what they find growing in the tank.

I feed my other fish, flakes. I'm feeding my mandarin and scooter frozen brine to see if they'll take that. The mand. does and my scooter only eats off the floor. If they don't look healty in about 1 week, ima go buy some live brine or some eggs.

Also about my sig, people pm me saying "Are you CRAZY that tank is TOO small for all those fish." I forget to change it and put both my tanks up, but will do in the matter of minutes.

Ok, that's better. That should clear up some of the confusion.

Heh, hopefully lol. I just looked at my fish right now, was hard to find them but they still on different sides of the tank, they claimed their territory I guess. I added both at once so they probably have a mutual respect now.
