AIMLilRob,

Not my tank, but the guy said hes using regular bulbs. He said he thinks the reflection of his pink and brown coral/rock/algea make the pic look the way it does.

Very proud of the tank, just been working on for like 5 years. I am anxious to fill it up, but patience is a key in this hobby. We have a baby on the way 9/16/03 so I don't plan on really populating it for at least a year or so.

nice looking tank, has it been running like in the pic for 5 yr. some have told me that a LSB deeper than 3 inches can cause problems with toxic gasses, i forgot the name, any thoughts? how is your coralline growth

No, just 5 years to get everything going. Its a long story (5 years worth LOL0 but between the time a got the tank and set it up, I got married, built a house, built a sump room, and all of that good stuff. My sand bed is exctly 5", 4"/5" is pretty typical I think. Coraline groth is slow but happeneing. I have about 800/900 lbs of rock. only 120 Lbs of so is Premium live rock. You can see more pictures on my website if youde like. My web server is slow, I have to upgrade my service.

AIMLilRob

tank alone was 200, unique shape so I bought it, was fixing my rocks to make my tank look better, kinda empty since I stacked most of it into 1 section. Going to get my after pic in like 10 mins.

Looks really cool, seems like the tubes would be a pain to clean. Are they?

AIMLilRob

not really hard to clean, just stick a rag in there and clean it like that, not much of a pain, heres some after pics(my red scooter front bottom.)

Well, here is mine a month ago. This is when it was in the 29 gallon.
http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/29gal.jpg

Here it is a month later. I have moved it into a 55 gallon tank. I also got it out of direct sunlight. Before I just used a Penguin 330 filter. Now I have an aquaclear wet/dry and an aquaclear protein skimmer. Before I had 1x55 pc lights, now I have 4x55 watts. I have also added about 50 pounds of live rock.

Unfortunately my picture doesn't show all of the color but it is beautiful...to me anyway. The new rock is TBS. Keep in mind the tank is still pretty new so I haven't added any corals yet. I am trying to do this right this time. The only thing in here other than the fish and cleaners is a little florida ricordea.

Nice i'd say thats quite the upgrade, a year ago when i wanted to upgrade my reef i was thinking a 55 long, instead i built my on 50 gal cube, its great though, i don't know anyone else around that has a cube set up like mine , its all tonga deepwater live rock ( about 80 Lbs ) and packed full of corals, i ended up keeping the 25 gal too, and since then i've also built a new 10 gal nano reef, awwww so addictive

I know what ya mean about the adictive thing. But since I already have a 125 gallon and a 55 gallon fw tank I had no choice but to get rid of the 29. I also got rid of a 10 gallon. My wife is pretty easy going but I guess she had to draw the line somewhere.

Oh yeah! Thats probably what i will do when i move into a house after i finish my degree, build a 200 gal tank right into a wall, keep the 50 gal cube ( for the memories if nothing else lol, i built the tank stand canopy and everything myself so it'd be nice to have around ) and give away my other tanks the 10 gal nano and my 33 gal freshwater
