Attached is a rendering of the sump/fuge I'm having made. The acrylic will be in next week for me to put together...I'm going to attempt my first big acrylic project with this!
The show tank it will be connected to will be a ~135gallon acrylic. The tank will have two external overflows on the left and right side of the tank with one return line going to the left chamber of the sump, and the other to the refugium side of the sump. The main pump will be a Amp Master 2700.
Above the main tank will be two Home Depot buckets converted into Carlson Surge Devices. One on the left, one on the right. My goal is to power these with the main pump as well.
My question is twofold:
1. Will I be able to power the two surge buckets and still get sufficient flow to the main tank by using only the one Dolphin pump?
2. As you can see from the rendering, the input to the pump goes around two 90 degree 1.5" PVC elbows before reaching the inlet. Will I have any problems with this?
