Any good size tank or rubbermaid bin (20 gal is best) can be used. HD is a good source fopr cheap storage bins if you don't want a glass tank to deal with. Lighting is a secondary concern and unneccessary really. A simple titanium heater and corner sponge filter. If deap, a powerhead at the surface may be needed.

Keep it simple and cleanable. Short pieces of PVC or other opeque plastic material for hiding spaces, no substrate or LR. If a lid is needed, I would suggest common screen door material to allow proper O2 exchange.

How long is a good time to quarentine them? If you have them in a rubber maid holder how would you be able to look at them to see if they have any ich or such? Any info would be helpfull.
thanks,

Rubbermaid containers do come in translucent/clear as well. It will make it easier to view the condition of the fish. Quarantine should last as long as it takes to cure the fish + at least two weeks after to make sure there is no relapse or secondary infection. If you are only able to get the opeque containers, placing a white sheet of thin plastic on the bottom of the QT will provide a better contrast for viewing the fish but is not "ideal".

That will also allow any parasites in the main tank to die off providing it has remained fishless for at least 4 weeks depending on the problem.

Cheers
