I often feed my aggressive fish a frozen Brine Shrimp mix, when thawed I can see intact shrimp I also check my pre-filter weekly and see live shrimp of the same size jumping about..??..

The last time I fed live brine was 4-5 months ago and cannot see a way they could breed in this preditory tank, in the pre-filter which is cleaned often or in the water current of the over-flow box.

This stuff is frozen solid for who knows how long.
Is this possible that these tiny creatures are thawing and coming back to life?

Anyone??
Thanks

I would highly doubt they would revive. During a normal freezing process their cells would burst due to the expanding freezing fluids. (Killing them.)

The only way to counter this is to flash freeze and that is rather expensive. A flash freeze is when they are frozen almost instantly instead of being allowed to freeze slowly by the cold temps reaching inward.

To answer it IMO...no.

However, with your LR if you have any, some shrimp may have come in or at least the eggs or larva. So they could be from that and are just multiplying.
