Last night i just noticed these little caterpillar like things crawling over my rock, and noticed 1 in the sand. I dont have live sand, so they definetly didnt come from there. There almost microscopic, they are clear, i think i see little antenna things. I was wondering if these could possibly be baby mantis shrimp? And if so what should i do. Thanks very much :D

Hehe...definitly not a Manits.
Just part of the little critters that come out from deep inside your LR once it is finally placed in your tank. It is all normal. Some will just end up dead and others will live on and be a part of your system.

i heard that you have to have your tank setup for about 6 months before adding a mandarin goby, do they eat pods? if not what is their deal?

No mandarins in nanos please. Just do a search on reef central for all the reasons why. I'm assuming you aren't planning on setting up a separate tank to grow continuous pods.
Let's just say that there have been numerous posts from people with 55g tanks that have seen a mandarin decimate a pod population to practically zero in the space of a week...and then they begin the starvation process. The next post is always "help me save my mandarin" :(
