Just wanted to show a few pictures of my sailfin leaf fish. He is currently residing in my nano until he is successfully weaned over to frozen PE mysis shrimp (not an easy task). He's about 2.5".

Great looking Fish and tank.

How long have you had him?

Thanks, he's been in the tank for about 2 1/2 months and is being quite stubborn. He is finally starting to associate the "mysterious tube"(turkey baster) with food. Hopefully I will have him off of ghost shrimp in another month and onto the PE mysis.

Thanks.....he's extremely photogenic....but bring out a piece of "fake" shrimp and he acts like you don't exist! But I must say, its been enjoyable....his foliage mimicry is incredible and trying to get him to eat frozen food has made the tank just that much more entertaining.

Sorry folks, this thread never saw a lot of action so it slipped my mind.

I will update it on here tonight when I have some free time to answer all the questions properly.

In the meantime, you can view a small Quicktime video of it capturing a ghost shrimp on my website at www.reefnut.com and going to the Nano-reef section. Or just click here:

http://www.reefnut.com/Reefnut_nano.htm

Scroll down and allow it to load, it is at the bottom.

They are only really a threat to ornamental shrimp or maybe really small fish. They however, should not be kept with fish that may nip at its leafy fin.

Toward shrimp, very! :D It his housed alone but I am preparing to move it into my 55g with my porcupine puffer because I want a few more. I don't anticipate any problems.

I got him at my LFS (That Pet Place, Lancaster PA). He was mislabeled as a frogfish so I got him for $14. He is very reef safe, my nano is now fully stocked with corals.

The fish is doing great, although he is still in training to understand that prepared food is good too. New pictures will be available in the next few days....when I got home tonight the light was already off.

Nope, I don't hold onto it for long and i only do it when it won't fit in the turkey baster. I let it go in front of him to reduce any catastophes :)
