My wife and I are choosing the fish we want and deciding the best way to add them to our 46 gallon FO aquarium. We are very excited, but a bit cautious, because this is our first aquarium.

We've had our tank for approx 2.5 months and currently have 2 azure damselfish we used during cycling and 2 hermit crabs added recently to help with the diatome brown algae thats developed over the last week.

Some of the fish we are considering are: a pink square anthias, a flame angelfish, a dwarf lionfish, a dwarf blue spotted pufferfish, and a yellow tang.

Do we need to worry about any of these fish eating the hermit crabs, which have quickly become a favorite of my wife? Also, has anyone kept a pink square anthias before or forsee problems with this fish in the tank or with the others listed? Or any problems with the fish listed above habitating together?

Advice is welcomed at this point.
Thanks,

Zach :D

2 reasons nto to get the tang. if it a FO tank, then to tangs at all. there will nnot be enough rock to keep a tang. tangs need a great supply of algea and usually only do good in reefs. dont get a tang. also, tangs sould have at least a 75 gallon tank. they need lots of rock, but still lots of swimming space leftover. they like to dart from place to place. as for the other fish, with fish that big, u should get no more than 4 fish if u want a healthy tank. the four u choose should not include the tang. if u get a dwarf lion, make sure all the other fish u get are larger than its mouth, and somewhat aggressive.

Thanks Nanoman-

I didn't realize the tangs needed that much space.... Guess he will have to wait for the next tank.

Any advice on the feasibility of keeping the pink square anthias with the other fish mentioned?
