I have been searching everywhere online for a diagram or very basic step by step instructions on an entire in tank overflow to wet dry sump setup. I have a 55 g tru vu with built in Overflow. Finally figured out that I need a bulkhead to go in the hole in the tank. So, what is next. I need to attach it to a Aqua Clear Aquatics wet dry sump. It has a bulkhead, protein skimmer bio balls and another bulkhead on the side. thanks kristen

Well,
Ill give it a go.
You attach a drain line to your tank's overflow and run this into your wet/dry filter. Attach it on the side that has the bioballs. Their probably is some kind of 'drip plate' on that side to distribute the water over all the bioballs.
If your gonna use an external pump to return the water to your tank then you need to pumb it into the bulkhead on the side of the sump and then plumb the pump back up to the tank via some PVC.
IF you want ot use an insump pump then you will have to plug up this bulkhead and just run some PVC or flex hose up to the tank for your returns.
The skimmer probably needs some type of pump to drive it.

that's pretty much the run down...with perhaps a few variations (due to preference) of stand pipes, or return valves since some are a bit more noisy than others...
also most skimmers (pump driven) utilize venturi pumps, which inducts a mixture of air and water...
best of luck! i'll try and find a diagram or some pictures of a typical setup...
