Not to butt in on this thread or anything  but I have wanted to get a Lemonpeel Angel for my tank since I first saw them a long time ago. The LFS has a small one right now (about 1 1/2" to 2"). The problem is that my tank is only about 2 months old, but the LR I've had for almost 3 months (Cycled in a tub for 1 month, but things actually stablized after about 2 weeks). I used live sand when setting up the tank.
Maybe I should have started a new thread?

Be careful when purchasing dwarfs for newer tank. They can be difficult to acclimate to aquarium feedings and may not eat for some time. If possible I would suggest giving the LFS a deposit to hold the fish for a week or so until you know it will eat prepared foods. I would never recommend buying "just in" fish. You never know if the animal will survive or has health issues. Go back every few days and check in on it's health status and after the week has passed and all looks good and the fish is eating you can take it home.
Make sure it is also introduced via quarantine tank first. You don't want to introduce pathogens into the tank and risk the health of the other fish.

Lemon peel are very hardy and tend to do better than most of the angels I get. They tend to be shy and will not eat prepared food until they get use to their surroundings. I would find a LFS that sell Gracilaria because they will nip at it when your not around. As long as you get a healthy specimen, you should have no trouble with this species.

Well, I bought the Lemon Peel the other evening. He's doing well so far. Or maybe it's a She since she has that Blue Eye Liner thing going on. She is about an inch and a half or so in length. She's eating the frozen food that I've been using so everything appears to be good so far.
One issue though is that my little Yellow Watchman was hiding most of the day. Maybe he was jealous of the bright yellow of the Lemon Peel? He did come out this evening though. I think he was just spooked by the new tank mate.
Now, I know some of you have realized something by now. No, I didn't use a QT. I haven't set one up yet. I guess I'm playing Russian Roulette. I had watched the little guy at the LFS for a week and a half and everything appeared good. The owners are very good about picking their stock, but that is no guarantee that I wouldn't get something at some point. So, guess I should start looking in to how to set up a QT. Any suggestions? Should I have LS and LR in it or just something for them to hide in?

A QT needs to be nothing special. A 10 or 20 gal tank (or rubbermaid bins), a heater, sponge corner filter and sometimes a powerhead.
No substrate or rock is needed or recommended. Hiding areas can be created with several short pieces of PVC piping that you can get at the local hardware store.

You do know that there are false lemonpeel angels that don't have the blue-eye ring. You probably know that, but you made the reference to she and the blue eye liner.

Yes, I know about the False Lemonpeels. I was trying to be funny. but it sometimes looses seomthing when read by others. :?
So, is there a way to tell sex on the Lemon Peels? I read that on my Yellow Watchman the "lips" are slightly larger on the males and the front spines on the dorsal fin are a bit longer. So, I'm pretty sure that mine is a male in that case.
